About the school
Malua Bible School Aotearoa New Zealand is a theological training programme for Pacific Island communities here in Aotearoa. Offered through the EFKS/CCCS church network, it equips students with foundational knowledge of scripture, Christian history, and ministry practice, taught in both English and Samoan.
All courses delivered in English and Samoan, honouring the language and culture of our Pacific community.
Students study within the EFKS/CCCS network, staying connected to their aulotu throughout the programme.
Open to adults from primary through to university level. No prior theological background required.
Courses designed to be applied directly in church life, equipping students for real ministry.

Surveys the development of OT books, their historical and social backgrounds, messages and themes, and their relevance to modern contexts.
This course covers the development of the books of the Old Testament. It introduces individual books and their historical and social backgrounds, messages and themes, and their relevance and application to the modern context. On successful completion of this course students should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Old Testament as Scripture and appropriate its messages to contemporary contexts.

Explores Matthew, Mark, Luke and John through the chronological life of Jesus, from birth to ascension.
This course provides an introduction to the four Gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The course covers introductory knowledge and skills in comprehension, recapitulation, and application of learning activities and resources for adult students in a formal and non-formal learning context through the exploration of the chronological structure of Jesus' life from birth to his ascension. It focuses on the places, circumstances, and the various people involved in the Gospel's presentation of Jesus and his ministry, and how those factors have influenced and impacted one's contextual ministries today.

This course provides foundational understanding of Christian Theology. The course provides an introduction to the important doctrines of the Church — God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, Trinity, Church, and End of Time. The course also covers what 'doing theology' is as an approach to putting into action the understanding of the doctrines of the Church. By the end of this course students will be able to understand the important doctrines of the church as the foundational Christian Theology and how these doctrines are to be put into practice as Christian tasks within the Church and community.

This course introduces students to the extraordinary story of Christianity. It surveys how Christianity spread and progressed from its birth in Palestine in the 1st century AD to the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 AD. The course provides an overview of the challenges Christianity faced from persecutions under the Roman Empire to religious and theological heresies. It also looks at important spiritual movements such as Monasticism. The course involves working with the map of Europe and the Middle East in conjunction with the timeline.

This course explores the biblical and theological foundations for Christian Ministry. The values and principles of being called to ministry will be investigated, including areas such as worship, pastoral counseling, education, evangelism, and mission. The knowledge gained is foundational to becoming actively involved in developing a vibrant, transforming and engaging Christian ministry.
